Description
This 1940 Ford Deluxe is one of 23,704 convertible coupes produced for the model year and was purchased in 2012. The car is finished in burgundy over brown upholstery, and power comes from a replacement 24-stud flathead V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Features include triple Stromberg 97 carburetors, an Offenhauser intake manifold and cylinder heads, a 12-volt electrical system, an aluminum radiator, Fenton headers, a dual exhaust, front disc brakes, a tan soft top, turn signals, an AM radio, and a heater.
The body is finished in burgundy and features chrome bumpers with overriders, red-accented Ford Deluxe hood emblems, running boards, dual side-view mirrors, turn signals, a tan soft top, chevron taillights, and chrome exhaust tips.
Body-color steel wheels wear chrome Ford Deluxe hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. The 01A Deluxe rode on a 112″ wheelbase and featured front and rear transverse leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by hydraulically assisted front discs and rear drums with a dual-circuit master cylinder.
