Description
This 1971 Ford Torino Squire station wagon was manufactured with a 429ci Cobra Jet V8 linked to a three-speed C6 automatic transmission, and it was delivered new to East Tennessee Ford of Knoxville, Tennessee. The car reportedly underwent a refurbishment in the 1990s before it was purchased by the seller in 2006, and it is finished in red with faux woodgrain paneling over Medium Ginger vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 16″ polished alloy wheels, power steering, a shaker-style hood and scoop, front disc brakes, a roof rack, and an AM/FM stereo as well as a Holman-Moody camshaft, a Holley carburetor, and a Mallory Unilite distributor.
The car is said to have been refinished in red in the 1990s, and the faux woodgrain paneling was replaced at that time. A Cobra Jet-style shaker hood was fitted under prior ownership, and further details include chrome bumpers, concealed quad headlights, a Magic Doorgate rear tailgate, a roof rack, a receiver hitch, and dual exhaust outlets with polished tips. Chips in the paint are visible on the rocker panels and on the right-rear sail panel.
Aftermarket 16″ polished alloy wheels are mounted with 225/50 Firestone Firehawk SZ-50 tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
