Description
This 1958 Triumph TR3A was acquired by the seller in 2022, and subsequent work involved installing a replacement four-speed synchro manual transmission, electronic ignition, an alternator and negative ground conversion, an electric cooling fan, a gear reduction starter, a Bluetooth stereo, and a Monza exhaust system. The carburetors were also rebuilt, and additional work included replacing the soft top, side curtains, tires, brake and suspension components, water pump, fuel pump, battery, and rear main seal. The car is powered by a 1,991cc inline-four and is finished in British Racing Green over tan upholstery.
The car is finished in British Racing Green and was repainted some time ago. A replacement black convertible top was installed under current ownership, and additional features include removable side curtains, a tonneau cover, a detachable one-piece windscreen, wind wings, fender-mounted side mirrors, a cowl hood vent, and driving lights with yellow lenses mounted to a badge bar. There is bubbling on the right rocker and in the door sills. Chips, scratches, and areas of touch up are viewable in the gallery.
The 15″ wire knock-off wheels were mounted with 165HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires under current ownership. The car was factory equipped with a coil-sprung independent front suspension and a semi-elliptic leaf-spring rear suspension. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. The steering box was rebuilt and the brake master cylinder, calipers, and rotors were replaced under current ownership along with the springs, suspension bushings, trunnions, ball joints, tie rods, and wheel bearings.
